My newest fashion

Ok, so many have requested a photo of my new look... here you go! It takes about 10 minutes for me to get dressed (at least right now). The ponya is difficult to get in the right place over the shorts and tied so it will stay... shorts because Malian women are not shy about telling/ helping you if you're not dressed quite right and they'll just untie your ponya and fix it. Headwrap - the bigger the better so practicing keeping it on and making it fancy left me in quite a sweat today just getting dressed :)

The Messiah concert today was put on by the two-bob's (white people) at a very nice Radisson hotel. I've never heard the entire Messiah before and there are quite few direct scriptures from Isaiah about 'the hands and feet of the Lord', etc. Hearing the Hallelujah Chorus was like being at home for Christmas!

And for those concerned about my safety, we are in a house with a 14 ft high concrete wall and metal gates with a guard all night.

I'll be leaving for a village about 2 hours south of us tomorrow with my trainer, Alyson for about a week so I won't be in contact for awhile. By the way, I'm a 'goldfish', that's what newbies are called while I'm training.

Goldfish signing off - we leave early for the village.

Oh, my sweet sister, how beautiful you look! Are the headresses worn all the time? I hope your excursion goes well. Missing our Saturday morning phone calls. But so joyful for your opportunity. Serve the LORD with gladness, we are happy you are there. Sage, Naomi and Wade were thrilled to see the pictures. Thank you for sharing! Twice your sister - Beth

That's awesome Denise. I'm praying God will fill you with His spirit everyday. Just as you have touched the lives of so many people here in the States, I know He will work through you and your team to reach many in Mali. Mark, Susan, and Rachelle
